High on the Mendip Hills, after the excitement of the Cheltenham Festival, racing continues at the Mendip Farmers’ Point to Point on Sunday at Ston Easton.

Take your own picnic, be it in a small basket or filling the boot of the car with food and plenty of bottles, with plenty of places to eat on site. Whilst viewing the course and not watching the thrills and spills of the racing, keep a look out for famous faces, some from the world of racing others from stage and screen.

This is a year of firsts, with is a new secretary, George Pullen, from Chewton Mendip and a new sponsor, J. M. Finn & Co. Private CIient Investment and Portfolio specialists, with offices in Bristol.

There are six races, the first at 12.30 p.m. and after the full races, there are two pony races, where future hopeful jockeys try their hand at race riding. Roger Penny, of Litton, ran his Earthpower, which was placed second last year.

This is a great day out for all the family with many trade stands, there’s nothing like a good shopping experience, entertainment for children. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on leads at all times.
