Wera Hobhouse, MP for Bath, welcomes the B&NES Council’s five-year contract with Citizens Advice Bath and North East Somerset. It provides long-term support to a vital service for residents facing difficulty.

Wera Hobhouse, MP for Bath, commented: “By providing Citizens Advice Bath and North East Somerset with five years of funding, our Council is giving this effective, volunteer-staffed service much-needed stability to support residents seeking information and advice on debt management, welfare benefits and general financial matters.

“My concerns are always with the most vulnerable in our community. Citizens Advice B&NES saw a surge in demand during the pandemic.

“We know that financial worries have a negative impact on mental health. So the free and confidential services provided by Citizen Advice’ specialist advisors are needed now more than ever.”
