Visiting the company on Friday, 15th July, Rees-Mogg discussed government contract opportunities for small and medium businesses under his new Procurement Bill, currently going through Parliament.

PrimeTools already supply professional quality tools to the MOD and some other government departments as well as being exporters worldwide.

Jacob discussed opportunities created by Brexit and met each member of staff, including school- leavers Leo Smith and Brad Rideout who joined the company last week as trainees.

PrimeTools was started in 2000 from a spare bedroom and garage and has now grown to become one of the leading online suppliers of professional quality hand tools, employing seventeen people, most of whom have joined straight from school which is something Jacob was impressed by.

He commented that it was: “One of the best working atmospheres he’s ever encountered when visiting businesses!”

He chose to use a pair of 36” Bolt Cutters to cut the ribbon instead of the scissors offered, as it was more fitting when opening a tool shop and volunteered to have his photograph taken on the forklift truck!
