North East Somerset Labour Party is sad to announce the death of Pat Hogg, who served as Labour Councillor for Paulton from 1995 to 2003.

Pat cared a great deal about the village and was committed to representing residents.

Pat had a passion for life and for campaigning, and she always approached her work with huge and infectious enthusiasm and with a smile upon her face. She was in politics to make a difference and found it easy to get along with people across the political divide.

Pat had a wide range of interests, which were reflected in the committees and panels on which she served in B&NES. These included Adoption; Social Services; Development Control; Transportation; Community, Culture and Leisure; and Housing and Public Protection. She was the Labour Group’s Equalities Spokesperson.

In her life beyond politics, Pat was a qualified teacher and had worked in an NHS hospital before retiring. She was passionate about art, very widely travelled and curious and reflective about other cultures, people and ideas.

Pat lived in Keynsham before moving to Bath and latterly, Weston-super-Mare. She was a true socialist and an outstanding friend to many, who will be remembered for her delightful, witty, handcrafted cards at Christmas.

She is survived by her husband, David, her three chil- dren and her grandchildren. Pat will be sorely missed. Her funeral will be held on Friday, 13th March at 11.30 a.m. at Weston Crematorium, Worle.
