The Midsomer Norton and Radstock Branch of the Royal British

Legion have announced an interim total for the 2021 Poppy Appeal.

The final official total will not be issued by the Royal British Legion until September 2022.

So far, locally, £17,686 was collected through cash or cheque, £777 by card and £2,327.75 by BACS, bringing the total to a massive £20,790.75.

A spokesperson for the local branch said: “Words can never convey the real meaning of “Thank You” and the Branch couldn’t do it without the input of everyone, however small a part you think you played.

“Not only do we wish to thank all of the volunteers but also the generosity of the people of Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding area.

“Without the volunteers, we could not collect. Without the people, we would not collect anything.”
