Paulton Hospital has received a further £18,000 worth of equipment from the League of Friends charity shop in Paulton High Street.

The hospital now has two air mattresses, which help maintain movement, so that bed-bound patients do not get bed sores, four portable DVD players for patients to use, plus the addition of a bladder scanner, which can be used to check bladder function and eliminate infections.

Christina Ring, Ward Manager at Paulton Hospital, said: “The great thing about this equipment is that it can be used for the whole ward – all our patients can benefit from them.”

Terry and Caroline Wynne MBE, who run the League of Friends Charity Shop in Paulton High Street, have also donated an additional £20,000 worth of funding to the local hospital for its new Sensory Room, which is due to open shortly.

The couple, alongside the League of Friends, volunteers and supporters, have been raising staggering amounts of money for many years for our local facility.
