Midsomer Norton Station enjoyed another shared day with Wansdyke Play Association, when they joined up to provide an exciting day out for families this Halloween.

A number of families and children gathered at the event, including local MP, Jacob Rees-Mogg, and his family. Children were able to carve pumpkins and make pictures with the Play Association, and go for a ride on the train pulled by the little steam engine called Joyce.

Parents watching their children could enjoy refreshments from the resident buffet car, while meals and light snacks were prepared by buffet coach manager, Andrew Hardy, and his able assistants from Norton Hill School, in the small kitchen space.

Youngsters, Brandon, Harry, Dan, Muerig and Louie came to help with catering during their Duke of Edinburgh awards, and did not leave after!

Andrew said: “It’s lovely to see families enjoying themselves up here. We like to think that we are not just a Heritage Railway, but also a tourist destination where you can come for a lovely day out.”

The next Family Day Out at the station will be in December, when Santa comes to call. Santa Specials will be on Sunday 3rd,10th, and 17th December, and tickets can be booked at the station on a Sunday or a Monday, or online at: ww.sdjr.co.uk
