SWALLOW, the local charity supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities, has been having fun fundraising over the past few weeks. Their team in the Bath Half Marathon in March raised more than £5,000, and huge congratulations goes to Dan Bates, who is a SWALLOW member and completed the Bath Half, and raised more than £1,600 for the charity.

Then there was a high tea event at Trinity Methodist Church in Radstock that raised £500 and last week a coffee morning at St Peter’s in Westfield, which raised more than £200.

And finally, over thirty members, friends and families took part in a Zumbathon Challenge on Saturday, 11th May at Chilcompton Village Hall – the money is still being counted, but the total raised is hoped to be more than £700! Thank you to Western Power Distribution for supporting the day, it was great FUN!

Nicky Tew, Fundraising and Finance Manager for SWALLOW, says: “Thank you to everyone who has helped us to raise such a lot of money with these events. We rely on donations and fundraising and this money will make a huge difference.”
