THE publication of a draft neighbourhood plan looks to provide an idea of what the future of Radstock could look like.
Radstock Town Council’s neighbourhood plan looks to set out a shared vision for Radstock and provides a framework for how the town could evolve over the coming years.
It hopes to address what residents would consider to be “key priorities”. This includes the protection of green spaces in Radstock, supporting local businesses, ensuring that housing is sustainable, as well as enhancing the facilities and infrastructure around the community.
The draft neighbourhood plan is now open for public consultation, which will run from Tuesday, October 7, to Tuesday, November 18.
The town council are encouraging Radstock residents, businesses, and organisations to read the plan and share their feedback with them.
Responses are expected to help refine the final version before it is submitted for independent examination before then being put to a local referendum.
Cllr Simon de Beer, chair of the neighbourhood plan steering group, said: “This plan has been developed in discussion with the community. It reflects what people in Radstock have told us matters most to them, and it will help guide development in a way that protects our heritage while planning positively for the future.
“We want as many people as possible to take part in this consultation. This is your opportunity to influence the future of Radstock – we encourage everyone to have their say.”
Anyone who is interested in viewing the draft neighbourhood plan can do so on Radstock Town Council’s website, alongside being able to see details of how to comment.
Alternatively, printed copies of the plan can can also be viewed in person, where they are available at the community hub and the library.
