Laney and Mark’s Christmas Raffle was held recently in the Red Lion Pub, Paulton. Helping Laney with the raffle were Gail Garlick, Secretary of PiP, and Liz Hardman, B&NES Councillor, with Leann from the Red Lion in attendance.
Two thousand tickets were sold in aid of the homeless, which Laney and Mark visit every Saturday afternoon and evening. The money raised will ensure that the homeless will receive Christmas boxes and help throughout 2018.
Laney said they will be taking sixty Christmas boxes into Bath, which will help to show those on the street that they are cared about. Not only will the boxes have Christmas fare, but they also have essentials, such as shower packs with 20p for a shower; hats, gloves and socks, and dog food for canine companions. Laney said they get through a box of 240 socks every six weeks.
A whopping 179 prizes were donated for the raffle and were won by some very lucky winners. Laney will be publishing the names of winners on their Facebook page and for those not on Facebook, she will contact them by phone. If you are a prize winner, please contact Laney and arrange to collect your prize at a pre-arranged time.
