To celebrate the year inspirational young fundraiser, Lucia Robinson, would have turned eighteen, a team of family and friends of the teenager set about organising another ‘Railway Rocks’ event, held on the May Bank Holiday with a target of raising £1,000.

Thanks to the help of local bands, who gave up their time for free, local businesses, who donated very generous prizes, and local fundraisers, who dared to have their chests waxed for all to see, the target was smashed – raising an amazing £1,618.20 for Lucia’s Go Blue charity, which helps families receiving support from Bristol Children’s Hospital, the Teenage Cancer Trust, CLIC, the Rainbow Trust and Children’s Hospice South West.

The event was driven by close friend of Lucia’s and fellow Writhlington student, Courtney Cullen, with support from local bands, ‘Up Your Brass’, ‘Escapades’, ‘The Venezuelan Pig Rustlers’ and ‘Parfanon’.

The event has now raised over £4,000 for the charity in total.
