Wednesday, 16th November saw a ceremony performed which last occurred in 2009.
The local Army Cadet Unit was affiliated with the Branch in 2009. However, since the closure of the Paulton Platoon which was amalgamated with the Midsomer Norton Platoon, it was time to confirm the affiliation of the unit with the Branch.
John Headford, the County Youth and Affiliation Officer, arranged for the re-affiliation certificate to be formalised and recognised by the Royal British Legion.
John attended the evening and jointly presented the certificate to Lt Kym Booker with the Branch Chairman, Martin Feeney.
Parents were invited to the evening and they saw the Platoon inspected by the Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Councillor Lynda Robertson. Councillor Robertson took the time to speak to every cadet on parade. Both parents and invited guests were able to tour the Drill Hall which has recently been refurbished after an eighteen-month closure.
