In the week that The Journal launched its digital edition at http://www.mnrjournal-somerset.co.uk">www.mnrjournal-somerset.co.uk we had a surprising email from local girl, Eve Howlett. She had found a use of the printed edition which we had never dreamed of. Making fashionable items from everyday materials and transforming them into fun fashion seems to be right up her street.
Eve told us: "I love making outfits and costumes, but, as a jobless student, I have very little money.
"Because of this, I can't afford a lot of fabric, so I generally use everyday household objects, food, plants ... etc. and find different ways to wear them.
"I was looking round the house for inspiration and found a copy of The Journal in the recycling bin. I ran up to my room and made it into a skirt.
"I posted a photo on Facebook and Twitter and got a great response."
Eve sent us several additional pictures showing other ideas she had.
When Eve contacted us, she explained: "I found a good way of recycling The Journal. I made a skirt out of it. The possibilities really are endless!"
Readers are invited to write or email us with any unusual ways they have of recycling their Journals after reading them.
