Drivers in and around North Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start this week:

M5, from 10pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 exit slip road closure for vegetation clearance, diversion via M5 northbound to junction 21 and return to exit.

M5, from 9pm August 1 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 exit slips, lane closure for barrier works.

M5, from 9pm August 2 to 6am August 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip, lane closure for barrier works.

M5, from 10pm August 5 to 6am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 18 to 20 lane closures for surveys.

M5, from 9pm August 8 to 6am August 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 to 20 lane closure for barrier works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
