Drivers in and around North Somerset will have two National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that both of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures are due to start this week:

• M5, from 10pm July 18 to 6am July 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 - Lane closures for Structure - maintenance.

• M5, from 10pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 exit slip road closure for vegetation clearance, diversion via M5 northbound to junction 21 and return to exit.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
