Somer Valley Rotary Club recently donated a generous £600 cheque to Longvernal Primary School to help with much needed funds for their Breakfast Club.
Due to the economic situation and the increasing cost of living, there is a rising need and desire for breakfast clubs and many schools are now introducing them.
The clubs take place before school and provide a safe, secure environment, where children can have breakfast with their friends.
Nationally Rotary clubs have been reaching out to local schools to provide support.
Karen Bazeley, Longvernal Primary School’s headteacher has stated that many families are struggling at this time so the additional funding to enhance provision will be really helpful as the service is very well used.
