At last Friday's lunch meeting, the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Rotary Club presented a cheque for £3,500 to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Each year, the Rotary President nominates a charity to which he or she would prefer a major portion of the monies the club raises during their year of office to go to. This year, President Rob Porter, chose the Teenage Cancer Trust. He presented a cheque to Laura Scowen from the charity on Friday, 1st November.

In addition, the club supports, throughout the year, many smaller local charities and appeals and donates from the many functions organised to raise money.

In the last Rotary year, a total of £14,252 was distributed to almost twenty organisations and individuals.
