Sadly the Steering Committee for the annual Somer Valley Walking Festival have decided that this year’s Festival, due to take place due to take place over the weekend of September 11th to 13th will have to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 emergency.

John Bull, Chair of the Committee explained : Restrictions on the number of walkers allowed to take part and the social distancing requirements have meant that we had to take the hard decision to cancel the 2020 Festival.

The Festival over the past four years has introduced many local people and others to the landscape, history, industrial heritage and wildlife of the area. Although there will be no led walks this year those interested in exploring the Somer Valley on their own or in small groups can find many helpful and imaginative suggestions on our webpage, to be found on the baths cape website: https://bathscapewalkingfestival.co.uk/walking-festivals/somer-valley-2/

In September 2021 we hope that we will be able to resume the Festival and that all our regular participants and many more will be able to join us for an even bigger and better event. Please visit the same webpage for up to date information as it develops.
