Bursting with flowers, produce and handicrafts, the 38th Flower Show lived up to what is best in a small village show. The skills of villagers were reflected in amazing and colourful exhibits, the friendly rivalry and afternoon tea epitomising a rural English show.
There were a lot of new entrants this year, including the winner of the Newcomers’ Cup, Elaine Hillier.
Rosemary Blatchford was a convincing winner of the vegetable section and was overall winner of the show; Josie Boxall fought off competition to take the Flower Cup.
There were many entries in the cookery classes, with Audrey Brown being the victor and the hobbies section was won by Marlene Pickford.
