The Chair, John Padfield, has retired from office after 48 years of dedicated service to the Council, likewise vice Chair Judy Davies has also stood down, joining them in retired Parish roles is Valerie Attwood the Parish Clerk.
The Council would like to place on record the outstanding contribution they have made to Stratton-on-the-Fosse, and not least recent efforts to make Stratton somewhere for everyone to enjoy with its Community Garden.
Hoping to continue the hard work undertaken is new Chair Robert Kelly, an ex-Royal Marine who is relatively new to the Council but hopes to refresh enthusiasm in village life, backed up by the vast experience of Malcolm Daniels in the vice Chair role. Malcolm is a well known villager with a proven track record in serving residents of Stratton on the Fosse.
Supporting the Council in their new roles is Jen Gregory as Parish Clerk who has had previous experience in a governance role albeit in a far different organisation.
Plans are afoot for the coming year building on the good work of the outgoing Chair with the possible purchase of the Community Gardens, the land on which belongs to Downside as well as Village in Bloom plans and sometime in the future providing some youth provision.
The new Council are keen to engage with villagers and anyone keen to support, who have ideas or want to get involved on a bigger scale are asked to get in touch via the website: www.stratton-pc.gov.uk
