A Charity Style Swap is being held at Farrington Park this month to urge local women to do their bit for the environment, whilst picking up some new clothing.

The event, in aid of Bristol-based charity, Penny Brohn UK, takes place on Friday, 26th April and is encouraging women of all shapes and sizes to do their bit for the environment by swapping their non-wanted clothes and accessories for other second-hand clothes in good condition.

On the night, style swap goers will enjoy a wide range of pampering, fashion and beauty stalls from local businesses and talks and advice by Bristol fashionistas and instagrammers, @samanthacostyling and @alwaysafashionparade.

Samantha says: “We will be chatting about our top styling tips, as well as what colours suit different skin tones and what styles suit different body shapes.”

The event is organised by Jenny Cooper from Cotton & Canvas and Somerset Business Mums founder, Maria Honeker, who herself had cancer in 2017. Maria says: “After being diagnosed with stage III Bowel Cancer at the age of forty, I received some fantastic support from Penny Brohn in Bristol. It is a charity very close to my heart for the amazing, forward-thinking services they provide to people living with cancer and beyond. I am really excited to be organising this event.”

On the night, each clothes swapper is asked to bring along five unwanted clothes and accessory items, in great condition, and on hangers. Each swapper will receive one credit per item. Each credit received can then be used for a new piece of clothing or an accesory for your spring and summer wardrobe. Once the rails are fully loaded, the swap will begin.

Items for the clothes swap need to be handed in no later than 7.45 p.m. Any items received thereafter may not be included on the night. Items excluded from the swap

are swimwear, sleepwear, earrings, prescription glasses or underwear.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite. For details, email: [email protected] or phone: 07941 149935.

The event runs from 7 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
