It was amidst much confusion and laughter that The Tabor Ringers, based at Tabor Independent Methodist Church in North Road Timsbury, reconvened after the New Year break.

Leader, Ms Angie Poole, had been researching techniques for ringing handbell and chimes; with this in mind, she decided to teach us a new method of playing. The whole team entered into this willingly, but not exactly with expertise! Angie, a former music teacher, declared it was easier teaching a class of thirty primary school children, than keeping twelve adults, who would keep giggling, focused.

In redemption though, at the end of rehearsal, we were beginning to learn.

Another session next week when it is hoped we will know what we are doing a bit more.

Tabor Ringers was formed thirty years ago, so we are planning some celebratory events – watch this space.

Bookings are coming in for 2023, the first one being at Coombe Lea Care home in Midsomer Norton. There is no charge but a donation is appreciated.

Tabor Church is still holding fortnightly Services, the next one being on 19th February. This will be a shortened Service after which there will be a Members’ meeting.
