The organisers of last year’s Taste of Timsbury, the award-winning festival of local food and drink, are looking forward to an even more
successful event this year.
The festival will take place at Timsbury’s Conygre Hall on Saturday, 23rd September from 10 a.m to 3 p.m; entry is free.
This year’s event will have more than thirty stalls, both inside the hall and in a marquee pitched on the recreation field, and there will be a choice of street food available. All the stallholders are local to the area, and products featured include cheese, charcuterie, crayfish, meat, beer, cider, wine and liqueurs, cakes, desserts, preserves, pickles and sauces, locally-produced Indian food, dips and hummus, artisan bread, vegetables and even organic dog treats.
As they proved to be so popular last year, there will be several cookery demonstrations – including one from the Cardiologist’s Kitchen scheme which will be featured at the festival – as well as activities for children, and there will also be displays promoting forthcoming cookery classes in the village, growing your own food and cutting down on food waste.
Last year’s Taste of Timsbury festival contributed towards B&NES winning the 2016 British Food Fortnight ‘Love British Food’ national competition. Part of the prize included Co-op vouchers to the value of £250 – which will form part of the draw being held in conjunction with this year’s festival. Other prizes include dinner, bed and breakfast for two at The Pig near Bath boutique hotel; a voucher worth £180 from Vale House Kitchen cookery school in Timsbury; the offer of a ‘chef for the night’ from Elm Tree In-house Cuisine and a hot stone massage from Total Synergy.
Taste of Timsbury is being made possible by generous sponsorship from Timsbury Parish Council, B&NES (through Timsbury Councillor, Doug Deacon), Timsbury Co-op and the various businesses and individuals who have donated draw prizes. The Seven Stars pub in the village has also generously offered to sponsor the marquee. For details, visit: www.tasteoftimsbury.co.uk, email: [email protected] or follow us on Facebook.
