A big thank you to the crowd who turned out for the Midsomer Norton Litter Pick on Sunday, our best numbers since 2011, probably helped by the National Campaign to Keep Britain Tidy, which we were part of.
We had public-spirited pickers from Weston-super-Mare, Paulton and Charlton, as well as locals, and we picked the usual hot-spots: behind the Leisure Centre, the lanes leading to the town from Norton Hill, around Orchard Hall, and others. Plastic water and juice bottles were a big feature.
Special thanks to The Journal, the Town Council and Tina Collins for help and publicity, and to B&NES Council for their prompt and efficient service.

Eight enthusiastic litter pickers wrapped up to clear litter in areas around Paulton last Sunday. Paulto Hill, Bath Road and Radford Hill were amongst the places cleared, with countless bags of rubbish collected.
It was all organised by Pam Leah, who contacted the litter pickers, organised the rubbish bags and their collection by B&NES Council. Pam was delighted by such a good turnout of litter pickers, but added: “It was disappointing that so much of what we collected could have been recycled.”
A big thank you to Pam, who works so tirelessly in organising these litter picks to keep the roads and lanes around Paulton free of rubbish.
