Following the success of last year's award, Radstock Town Council is proud to launch its second Making a Difference Award, which will continue to acknowledge and recognise the huge contributions many individuals make to the well-being and benefit of Radstock.

There are many activities which go unnoticed, charity work, fund raising, being a good neighbour, caring for others or simply making a difference in the community. The Council is asking residents to think of who they know that makes a difference and send in a nomination. Last year saw John Chiswell receive the first Making a Difference Award, recognising 25-years dedication to In Bloom, in particular, creating and tirelessly watering the many hanging baskets in the town. John was a popular choice, receiving numerous entries showing the appreciation of many people in Radstock.

The winner will be announced at a special ceremony to be held on Thursday, 6th November, when all those nominated will be invited to attend, along with the people who nominated them. Lesley Mansell, Chair of Radstock Town Council, said: "The Council is keen to mark the huge contributions local people make and there are a number who make a massive difference to local life. So do make your nomination as soon as you can."

The closing date for nominations is Thursday, 16th October. For an application form, contact the Council office on: 01761 437963 or email: [email protected]">[email protected]
