Following the horrific events of last Friday in Paris, Midsomer Norton Town Hall was lit up in support on Sunday evening and will remain so this week. Luke Barnes, who was responsible for the lighting, said: "With Midsomer Norton being twinned with the French town of Ambarès et Lagrave, it seemed fitting to light Midsomer Norton’s community building in the colours of the French flag out of respect and to support those who have been affected by the events of last week."

Multiple terrorist attacks on people in restaurants, a music venue and the Stade de France killed 129 people with hundreds injured. This morning, the UK held a minute’s silence at 11 am to coincide with the silence being held across Europe. Iconic buildings and landmarks across the world have been lit in the colours of the tricolour in a united show of support and sympathy.
