There is speculation in Midsomer Norton this week that the fabulous lanterns created by children at the Town Hall last Saturday may
unexpectedly be acting as a homing beacon to a team of reindeer carrying Father Christmas. With around 100 children and adults taking part, it is now hoped that the combined effect will be enough to direct him safely to the Christmas Nativity Fayre this Friday, 6th December.
The Fayre is open from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and is already set to be a fantastic evening, including the Christmas Lights Switch-On, roving street entertainers, 'Kidsrome' farm animals, a children's Nativity with carols to join in with and the opportunity for a free photo in costume on the set!
Don't miss the chance to win £100 in the event competition, or the opportunity of a prize for the best Nativity Animal-themed costume. There is also one more Lantern Workshop taking place between 3.30 p.m. – 5.30 p.m. in the library on the night.
Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Paul Myers, said: "I'd like to thank Welton Baptist Church for running such a fantastic Lantern Workshop. I am now keeping in regular contact with my sources, who have informed me that Father Christmas and his reindeer are definitely heading toward this area.
"I would encourage as many people as possible to bring their lanterns with them to the Fayre on Friday night."
