Last week’s Mystery Photograph, kindly supplied by Radstock Museum, was taken of Temple Cloud High Street. Can you guess this week's photograph?

Well done to the following people who guessed correctly; Paul Hancock, Steven Eyles, Dawn Rogers, Mike Ford, Les Box and Hannah Selway, Jonathan Cox, Joy Porter, Gilmour Jones, Andrew Chappell, Fiona Hayward, Marian Stock (Nee Chivers), Norma Attwood, Annette Price, Clarice Young and Charlie Brimble.

Thank you to Jeff Parsons who said: “I think this week you are in Temple Cloud, on the main road going towards Farrington Gurney.

“The building in the middle distance looks like the former Church Hall, now called Cameley Hall I believe.”

Many thanks to Michael Flower who said: “This photograph is of the main road, the A37 in Temple Cloud, at one time known as Edward Street. On the extreme right of the photograph, the lady is thought to be the wife of William Chivers, the butcher, together with her daughter Lillian.

“The butcher’s shop was built about 1906. The picture was probably taken about 1920. The man with the stick, maybe Charles Moody, who worked at Cambrook House, but lived at Cholwell.

“The Church Hall or Assembly Rooms as it was also known is the building behind the tall chestnut tree. The tree was taken down many years ago, the cottage by it is known as Chestnut Cottage.

“Today, 100 or so years later the width of the roadway and pavement has not changed but of course the traffic has, from the horse and cart to large articulated trucks.”
