Local highways has been a hot topic during December and January, with the Paulton 'build-out' causing readers to write in to us. You have also been telling us about the new 20mph speed limits going up locally, particularly along Charlton Road, in Midsomer Norton.
Whilst many say that the speed limit should be lowered outside Norton Hill School, some are questioning why money has been spent on signage on small residential streets, where cars are parked and it is difficult to speed through in the first place.
More recently, Councillors in Radstock have welcomed the new speed limit, but pointed out that many of the signs do not match those that still exist on the road.
Journal photographer, Dave Sherborne, captured such an example in Haydon last week on his travels, where both 20mph and 30mph exist. So which is which?
"No enforcement of the 20mph limit will be carried out until all signs and road markings are in place," said a B&NES Council spokesperson this week. "Once they are, the police will be notified that enforcement can be carried out.
"Our contractor has not been able to put all the speed limit signs up at the same time as the road markings, because of a supply issue. Also, some road markings on temporary surfaces, such as that which are part of the Radstock regeneration work, will not be changed until the new surfaces are in place.
"The remaining signs are now at the depot and are expected to be put in over the next fortnight."
