There are two exciting new bands coming up at Mardons Social Club, Midsomer Norton, as the venue continues to bring more free, high quality entertainment into the community.
Appearing on Saturday, 10th September, Ruzz Guitar’s Blues Revue are a new, powerful, soul-injected blues / R ’n’ B / rock ’n’ roll band.
With years of experience, Gretsch-wielding, Ruzz takes inspiration from guitarists such as Wilko Johnson, Brian Setzer and Jimmie Vaughan, but has developed his own iconic style. He is described as having ’the quickest, slickest and sickest set of Rock n Roll fingers in the west and beyond!’. Joining forces with drummer, Holly Carter, and upright bassist, Joe Allen, to create an original sound, together they are building a much-deserved name for themselves on the Blues and Rockabilly scenes.
With successful European and UK tours, they’ve opened for well-known bands like The Delta Bombers and The Rhythm Shakers plus legends Dr Feelgood, and have an upcoming date confirmed supporting The Blockheads.
Coming to Mardons for a rare and highly coveted public performance, on Saturday, 17th September, Purple Fish are known for their exceptional stage performance.
Presenting their ‘Ultimate Classic Rock Tribute’, the five-piece deliver songs from the cream of classic rock royalty, they showcase hits from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and ACDC. Mixing it all up they even throw in some pop favourites from Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Prince and even ABBA.
With both male and female vocalist and backed by hugely talented musicians, the group usually only play private or large scale venues - recently entertaining 2000 people over the Bank Holiday in Guernsey.
Entry to Mardons’ Saturday night entertainment is totally free and everyone is welcome, music starts rockin’ at 9 p.m.
