The Norton Radstock u3a Guitar Group, ‘The Singing Guitars’, were invited to feature in a Charity Christmas Show at Chilcompton Village Hall on Saturday, 4th December.
The show, organised by u3a member, Charmain Gay, was enjoyed by a packed hall who were entertained by a selection of 60s, 70s and 80s hit songs. Audience participation was awesome! Following a refreshment break, the second half included a Christmas selection of well-known songs and carols which proved very popular.
The Charity Concert was in aid of the Dorothy House Hospice and Meningitis Now and raised £370. Fundraising for charities has been affected by Covid-19 and Meningitis research projects have had to be cancelled. Now, thanks to the generosity of the public, it is back on track. The aim is to eradicate meningitis in children in the UK within a generation.
