Victoria Hall in Radstock has celebrated its second birthday since having been refurbished into a Community Arts Centre.
In addition to monthly film screenings, theatrical workshops and the home of a local dance school, it is also now a music venue and community space, where several local groups can meet and encourage each other to become more active in the community.
Artistic Director, George Hill, said: “Our thanks go to the local artists who exhibit in the gallery and support our monthly craft market, the musicians who organise and perform at our music events, Bath Film Festival and all our local volunteers. We are also very grateful for funding support from Arts Council England, Bath and North East Somerset Council, Radstock and Westfield Big Local and the British Film Institute, who have provided theatre and cinema equipment.”
The hall was also part of the recent refugee effort organised by Radstock resident, Laura Campbell, where donations could be left prior to distribution at Calais.
One of the many new classes taking place in the coming season is ‘Create with Clay’, an opportunity for people to learn more about pottery techniques. For details, contact Elaine on: 07896 360127 or: [email protected]
