BATH Park & Ride bus services are to continue to extend later into the evening after Bath and North East Somerset Council secured additional funding from West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (WECA).
It forms part of wider regional investment to improve local bus services and ensure reliable, affordable and sustainable transport options for communities.
Longer operating hours across Newbridge, Lansdown and Odd Down Park & Rides will make it easier for people to travel sustainably for work, leisure and evening activities.
Services will continue to operate until 11.30pm Monday to Saturday, and until 6pm on Sundays and public holidays giving people flexibility to leave the car behind when travelling into Bath.
Cabinet member for communications and community at B&NES, Cllr Manda Rigby, said: “Securing this funding is great news for people who have been relying on the extended hours.
“By making it easier and more convenient to use public transport later in the day, we can help reduce congestion, improve air quality and support our local economy - all while giving people more choice in how they get around.”
Helen Godwin, Mayor of the West of England, added: “We’re delighted to be funding these late-night buses in and around Bath, alongside a range of new services from 26 July.
“Getting our region moving is one of our biggest priorities, connecting people to jobs and education in our city centres and improving sustainable travel options.
“Extending these services will make easier to explore everything Bath has to offer, while leaving the car at home, as we work to build the kind of bus network that local people deserve.”
Further information on timetables and service changes will be available in the coming weeks, alongside travel updates for passengers.
