The outage occurred on Thursday, May 15, at around 8.55pm, with many residents experiencing a sudden loss of electricity. Supply was quickly restored in most areas within minutes.
A spokesperson for National Grid Electricity Distribution said: “We are aware of a high voltage fault briefly affecting power supplies in Midsomer Norton yesterday evening. Power was restored within a few minutes. We're sorry for the inconvenience this brief interruption may have caused, and we'd like to thank customers for their patience as we worked to reconnect them.”
Automatic switching systems were able to restore supply to Midsomer Norton and Radstock. However, some residents in Westfield reported slightly longer delays before power returned.
