At our concert at St Peter’s Church on 28th July, we said goodbye to our old name, and also to our accompanist, Becky, who has been with us for many years.

Whilst we are very sorry to say goodbye to Becky, and wish her well, we are equally enthusiastic to go forward as Westfield Voices, after more than seventy years as Westfield Ladies Choir.

It was a wonderful send-off, with a full programme of music to suit all tastes, from the Beatles and Paul Simon to Westlife, and featuring our very good friends, ‘Up Front & Casual’. We were delighted to be able to donate £100 from the proceeds of the concert to Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony charity, which funds research into bone cancer, and Willberry’s Wishes, for children with cancer.

Our last performance of the summer will be at the Chilcompton Festival on Sunday, 26th August. After that, we shall be having a well-deserved break from performances for a few weeks, while we learn some new songs for our Christmas programme and next year, and get to know our new accompanist, Katy.
