What will happen to Radstock’s closed Catholic Church? Asked ex-Radstock and current Westfield Parish Councillor, Eleanor Jackson, from the public area of the Town Council meeting on Monday evening.

Cllr Jackson reported that she is making enquiries as to whether B&NES or Radstock Town Council would be interested in being involved in the acquisition of what was St Hugh’s Church for community use. A number of Catholic churches closed in the area towards the end of last year, including Holcombe, Norton St Philip, Chilcompton and Radstock, in a move to bring congregations mainly to one place – St Benedict’s at Stratton-on-the-Fosse, with a small amount of services still taking place in Midsomer Norton’s historic Holy Ghost church.
