Last Thursday, 3rd March was World Book Day, the colourful day in the school calendar where children celebrate everything wonderful about books, reading, authors and illustrators. Now in its nineteenth year, World Book Day has become a worldwide event, with children receiving packs of book tokens to spend on a book they will love, as well as taking part in other fun events organised by the schools. Here’s what you were up to locally last week to celebrate all things literature – with many children dressing up as their favourite characters in honour of the day.
