Midsomer Norton Town Councillor Gordon Mackay has taken the time to highlight toilets on the High Street which are free for public use, following complaints that there are no accessible public toilets for people to use when shopping.

Midsomer Norton has more public toilets than many people realise.
The Leisure Centre make their facilities open to the public and the venue is open all week until 10pm weekdays and 6pm at the weekend.
The Library at the Hollies have excellent facilities too, open every weekday and until 1pm on Saturday, which is handy for people visiting the Farmers Market on the first Saturday of every month.
Wetherspoons Pub have confirmed their facilities are open to the public and visitors are not expected to purchase anything to use them, they are available all day, seven days a week.
The Town Hall usually offers a public toilet too but unfortunately it’s closed while the refurbishment takes place. All four sites mentioned have accessible facilities and there is disabled parking nearby.
There is a website https://www.toiletmap.org.uk/ which people can use to find public toilets near them, wherever they are. The site can be updated by anyone to let people know what’s available. It would be a real shame if anyone was put off shopping in Midsomer Norton’s fantastic High Street because they thought there weren’t toilets or suitable parking spaces available.
