The return of league cricket to Midsomer Norton’s Withies Lane ground this weekend should coincide with some sunny, spring weather if the forecast is accurate.
On Saturday, the First XI play host to Portishead in their opening league fixture in the revamped WEPL Bristol and North Somerset Division. The match starts at 1 p.m. The Second XI visit Bristol YMCA and the Third XI travel to Hampset for fixtures in their respective divisions in the Bristol and District Cricket Association competitions – both of these fixtures start at 1.30 p.m.
There is more cricket at Withies Lane on Sunday, when Hanham are the visitors for a Sunday Seconds fixture starting at 2 p.m.
