Last Saturday’s match at Withies Lane was abandoned because of the rain, but not before the home side had put themselves into a good position in the match.
Midsomer Norton won the toss and chose to bowl first. By the time that the rains came, fifth-placed Norton had second-placed Ilminster on the back foot at 118-5.
Andrew Cox (3-29) and Chris Hampshire (1-11) had reduced the visitors to 11-3, who then staged something of a recovery. The other wicket-taker was Josh Sutton (1-3). Now in fourth place, Norton visit Taunton Deane this Saturday, 18th August. The game starts at 12.30 p.m.
At Withies Lane this Saturday, the Second XI take on Bristol YMCA. On the same day, the Third XI have an away fixture at Bristol United Banks.
