Not surprisingly, the weather restricted opportunities for playing cricket last weekend.

Midsomer Norton Cricket Club’s First and Third XI fixtures both fell foul of the weather without a ball being bowled.

Midsomer Norton’s Seconds though travelled to Bitton and managed to successfully complete their fixture, winning by seven wickets. Norton won the toss and asked Bitton to bat. The home side were bowled out for 95 in 31 overs, with Andrew Cox and Alex Davis each taking three wickets. The other wicket takers were Max Bartlett, Harrison Veale and Charlotte Phillips. Norton lost three wickets before securing victory in the 22nd over. Martin Cox scored 27 and Luke Justin scored 25.
