TEMPLE Cloud maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 114-run home win over Wellington in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League.
Electing to bat first, Temple Cloud posted a competitive 208 for 7 from their allotted 50 overs. Opening batsman Lucas Hales scored a fluent 69, anchoring the innings and laying a strong foundation.
The highlight of the innings came later with an unbroken 80-run partnership between Cam Raffan (41)* and Dan Nolan (36)*, whose composed batting in the final overs pushed the total beyond the 200-mark. and gave Temple Cloud the upper hand going into the break.
In response, Wellington were bundled out for 94 in 25.4 overs. The Temple Cloud bowling attack was relentless, with Gary Filer turning in a match-winning spell of 5 for 31 from 10 overs. George Fox also took 3 for 29 from 8 overs, ensuring Wellington never looked likely to chase the target.
