A mixed team of Dyrham and Hinton past and present and Timsbury players took first place when Timsbury held its Sixes Competition on a boiling hot Sunday afternoon.

The social event – which was excellently organised by Greg Passingham – saw a number of former players donning cricket whites for the first time for several years, while Sol Thompson captained a much younger outfit.

The event also saw the first appearance of the club’s duck costume, accompanying those who had failed to trouble the scorer. Neil Hulford won the prize for the biggest six and Gary Pearcy proved to have the longest throw in a separate competition.

Altogether, four teams took part, and there was a good gathering of supporters to watch the event. Special thanks were expressed to Gordy Stewart, Club Chairman, Austin Sage, and his wife, Ann, who kept the barbecue going throughout the afternoon.
