Timsbury put in a disappointing performance in their penultimate game of the season in the Bristol and District League Senior Division,

losing by 99 runs at home to Shirehampton.

After putting their opponents into bat, the home side rallied after seeing Shirehampton reach 153–1 and did well to dismiss the Bristol side for 231. Timsbury, however, finished comfortably short of their target.

Gareth Nicholls and Adam Fidoe gave the visitors a flying start and put on 80 for the first wicket before the latter was dismissed by Tom Parfitt for 45. Nicholls was joined by Captain, Harv Summers and they added a further 73 before the Timsbury fightback began. Jesse Bishop won an lbw appeal against Summers, who made 30 and Jon Strand bowled Nicholls for 62. Andy O’Connor and John Stilwell both made 26, while the majority of the home wickets were shared between Parfitt, who took three wickets in his last over to finish with 4–47, Strand (3–36) and Bishop (2–36).

Mark Sage again looked in cracking form in moving to 40 out of a Timsbury total of 53, but when he fell to Stilwell, the home effort was quickly derailed. Apart from Gary Pearcy, who again batted with confidence and was last man out for fifty, there were too many soft dismissals, although Strand could consider himself unlucky to fall to one of the catches of the season from Andre Hoggard. Billy Cook led the Shirehampton effort with 3–8 and there was a brace of wickets for Stilwell, Conway and Kee.

Timsbury will hope to finish what has overall been a good season with a visit to Congresbury, who they beat earlier in the campaign.
