Gutsy enthusiasm shines through as Midsomer Norton Colts clinch solid win over Supermarine Colts at home on Sunday with a 57 - 7 win.
Superb ball in hand skills ensured Jack Pounds scored a hatrick along other noticeable try’s from Harry, Seb, Justin and Henry finishing off the flurry of tries.
Norton dominated the breakdown giving them the edge and allowing Max to utilise the speed of the backs to great advantage with electric results.
After a strong preseason the Junior sides were back in action last Sunday. The Under 13s and 15s have been bolstered by some new faces and play their first fixtures of the season, whilst the Colts began their league campaign. The U13’s began their junior rugby journey with a 30-10 victory against Imperial on a sunny Sunday lunch time. Norton started the stronger a sweeping move was finished with Henry crashing over the line. Norton got into their stride and after some good rucking, Jacob was able to crash over from short range. Harry (twice) and Thomas scored great running tries whilst Austin also burrowed over. Big congratulations go to debutants Theo and Ripper. Theo for his amazing scrummaging and Rippers for looking like a man that’s been playing the game for years. The U15s fell to defeat at a strong Old Reds whilst the Colts again impressed with a thumping 57-7 victory over Supermarine following on from a 64-12 victory over Tor last weekend. Next Week at Norton DownOn Saturday the Second XV are home to Oldfield whilst the Third XV host Old Reds, both these games are 3pm KOs. The First XV are away at Cinderford.
