Chilcompton Sport Under-10s headed back to the football pitch on Easter Sunday morning to play a friendly match against another local club, following the lift in Covid-19 restrictions for Grassroots Football. The team which now consists of twelve local players were delighted to return, sporting new jackets after receiving funding from local business, Dan’s Ice Creams.
The season has come to an abrupt end as the league was cancelled, due to the recent lockdown. However, the team are keen to resume training and play as many matches as possible in the following weeks.
“It’s been another tough season for football, but we are thrilled to have received sponsorship from Dan’s Ice Creams. The support for our team has been overwhelming and I cannot thank Dan enough for backing us and sponsoring the jackets,” said Manager, Hayley Blanning. “The team look really smart and cannot wait to play friendly matches for the remainder of the football season.”
New sponsor Dan adds: “I met Hayley on one of my ice cream rounds, when she asked whether I would be willing to come along to a fundraising event. When I found out what she was fundraising for, I was more than happy to offer my support and sponsor jackets for the team. “I am proud to sponsor the Under-10s and wish them all the best in their future matches.”
