Paulton were undone as they faced league leaders Taunton, on a sweltering Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.
After an equal share of early exchanges, Ryan Brett drove a shot over the Rovers’ crossbar.
‘The Peacocks’ took the lead on 26 minutes, after Josh Cann was penalised for fouling a Taunton player. Les Afful thumped home the resultant penalty.
Joe Hillard hit a dipping 30-yard shot, which narrowly went over the bar.
In added time, Ollie Chamberlain hit a low shot from the edge of the penalty area past Andy Hannah, to give the home side a 2-0 half-time lead.
Early Taunton pressure saw Hannah kept busy by Chamberlain and an Arran Pugh header.
Paulton then had a bright spell of possession, but could not put enough pressure on the Town goal.
Taunton substitute, Lewis Powell, saw his header hit the crossbar, before Ollie Mehew made it 3-0 with an excellent goal, dribbling along the box before creating enough space to hammer the ball past Hannah.
