PAULTON Rovers Ladies Reserves secured the Chairmans Cup in the Somerset Women League for the first time with a hard fought 3-1 win against AEK Boco Development at Glastonbury FC.

Jasmine Ford opened the scoring mid-way through the first half as she ran onto a long kick from keeper Emily Quinn, and knocked the ball past the advancing Boco keeper into the open net.

The second half sparked into life in the final 20 minutes as Boco grabbed an equaliser from a free-kick. Within a couple of minutes Paulton regained the lead with a spectacular long range strike from Kirsty Sheppard and shortly afterwards a good team move saw Alice Ford fire into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Paulton played in the first division of the Somerset League where they found it tough going, eventually finishing in ninth place. The winners were Pen Mill Ladies who finished one-point clear of Nailsea United Reserves.
