Paulton ended up losing out in a fairly-equal game, where chances came and went early on, with Jack Ball having his shot go into the side-netting.
Ben Withey’s cross was put behind for a corner not long after, with the resulting corner being cleared. Trialist Four for Paulton impressed on the ball, with chances being created, but nothing came of them. ‘Peny’ then had a corner, but it was cleared by Joe Hillard.
Penybont took the lead in the 67th minute, with Cullen Kinsella slotting past Rob Brown for the only goal of the game.
Paulton Manager, John Rendell, would ideally like a final pre-season friendly before the Evostik Southern League starts, with a trip to Cinderford Town on Saturday, 18th August; kick-off 3 p.m. However, most leagues started their seasons last Saturday, so opponents and referees are fully occupied.
