Purnell’s Under-13 girls ran out winners against Wembdon in a thrilling match recently. Both teams battled hard, but Purnell broke the deadlock with a great solo goal from Alice, who dribbled past two players before scoring from a tight angle.

This gave Purnell confidence and they pushed forward, resulting in a left-footed strike from Mia, making it 2–0.

Wembdon battled back to level the scores, but just before half time, Evie scored a great goal as she chipped the goalkeeper from the right wing.

The second half was another tight contest with both teams well matched until Ellie-May scored a wonder-goal from 25 yards out. Wembdon scored again to bring the score to 4–3, but Purnell defended well until the end to gain their first win of the season. Player of the Match was shared between Ellie-May and Maddy.
